SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
—
★ we accept submissions on a rolling basis: we're always open! issues will be published on a monthly schedule. feel free to reach out about the status of your submission whenever you feel it's necessary, but the head unicorn will try her best to get you a response within 2 weeks. sometimes it'll be very last minute—she's a bit bonkers.
★ submit pieces for free through email: lusterluxeliterary@gmail.com
★ submit up to 5 poems and/or 2 pieces of flash fiction
★ title your email "submission: [genre], [last name]"
(example: submission: poetry, lackadaisy)
★ in the body of your work, include your titles. attach your work in a .docx file or a .pdf file—multiple works should be attached in a singular document with reasonable spacing between (but also we don't really care or enforce this)
★ include a 25-75 word author bio snippet
★ simultaneous submissions are permitted, but notify us if you've been accepted elsewhere so we can say HEEEY YAAAYYY
★ no previously published work should be submitted, but you are welcome to publish any accepted pieces elsewhere if you note its original publication here at Lusterluxe
★ no usage of AI is welcome here, EVEN TO BRAINSTORM!
★ first serial rights will be bestowed upon the unicorns until your piece is published, at which rights revert to the author
★ no waiting period to submit again if you receive a rejection—go nuts baby
★ your work will be posted (in full or an excerpt) on our Instagram! if you're not okay with this, let us know in your submission
WHAT THE UNICORN SEEKS
—
★ Lusterluxe Lit seeks work that is glittery, dazzling, and downright metamorphic in its pizazz. We want spells and witchcraft, or maybe just a few sparkling sentences. Take that however you may, and please bend the constraints you think bind you. Any mentions of unicorns is a plus.
★ We give a lot of attention to young/new writers, so if you've never been published before, we're the place for you.
★ flash fiction up to 1,000 words
★ poetry of reasonable length (micro to 50 lines)
★ digital or (properly photographed) traditional illustration to use in volume headers
