IT STICKS AROUND
TILLIE LOWE
I spilled the jar
(goddamn it)
and a constellation spilled
a shimmer-storm
a silver pop across my sheets.
Somewhere a unicorn
shook out her mane
and left the leftovers here
star-dust, moon-dust
a little bit of myth.
Now it follows me
glimmering in school light
on my notebook, my backpack
sparkling on my sleeve at noon
jumping from my hair.
Icarus got too close to the sun
I got too close to a glitter painting
and look how I’m glowing.
Mess turned to magic
a trail of tiny jewel things
and once upon a times.
